Hollywood - Write Act Repertory continues their 2011-12 Mainstage Season with the celebrated West Coast Premiere of Playwright and Novelist Christie Perfetti’s newest play, No-Fault: A Tale about the Big D in the Big Apple.
Write Act Repertory Theatre’s Producing Artistic Director, John Lant, and Associate Artistic Director, Ken Cosby, are proud to present this cleverly constructed production directed by Stefan Lysenko and produced by Anne Mesa and John Lant for a 6-week engagement, in Los Angeles, opening October 15th and closing on November 19th, 2011 (8pm). ***UPDATED: Extended at Theatre Asylum Lab, Dec 2 - 18 (Thurs & Fri, 8pm / Sun, 7pm), 8 performances only***
No-Fault: A Tale about the Big D in the Big Apple is an 80-min play about one New Yorker's journey through the trials and tribulations of divorce in NYC. Told through a series of memories and narratives, a cast of characters help bring the adventure to life as the woman at the center of the story searches for understanding. The tale is funny, moving, dramatic and whimsical - beginning with heartbreak and ending with hope. No-Fault’s cast stars Stefany Northcutt, Carlyn Blount, Vera Chernysheva, Leonas Cinzano, Barika Croom, Liana Johnston, Borna Shokat Moghaddam, Vince Palmieri, Jack Seal*, Jinny Wilcott and Ramona Young. Ms. Perfetti is a writer, director and producer. She was born in Oswego, NY and is a graduate of Wells College. Currently, she lives and works in Manhattan. No-Fault premiered in NYC’s International Fringe Fest 2011 and was in the top 10 out of 194 plays. Her novels include Regular Coffee, released December 2006 and Revolutions Per Minute released October 2004. Writing Awards include Best of the Fest Girl Play 2010 - Lesbian Play Reading Festival, Finalist Fusion Theatre 2009 Playwriting Festival, and the Oswego Players Playwriting Competition Winner 2008. Stefan Lysenko, Director, is a member of the Playwright Director Unit of the Actors Studio and most recently directed Doris Roberts and Jack Betts at the Actors Studio PD units fall season premier. He worked on the stage under the direction of Stella Adler for several years. The famous Playhouse West became a creative haven for Lysenko. During this period, he worked with such actors as Ashley Judd, Jeff Goldblum and Academy Award-winning actress, Shelly Winters. Lysenko also starred in several feature films, including MAFIA! THE LAST WILL (opposite Goran Visnjic, “ER”), INTERCEPTORS (opposite Ernie Hudson, “Oz”) and THE STRAY (opposite Michael Madsen and Angie Everheart). Currently, Lysenko is negotiating distribution on his third award-winning feature film, STARTING FROM SCRATCH, starring himself and Billy Zabka (THE KARATE KID) and is in production on his fourth feature film, THE NEXT CASSAVETES. www.blissing.com
